B-Grade Ethanol 94%

The grade of ethanol produced is utilized for industrial applications, particularly in the manufacture of value-added chemicals such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, and acetone. This industrial-grade ethanol contains certain impurities that render it unsuitable for beverage applications. However, with a concentration of 94% ethanol content, it serves as a highly sought-after raw material for the production of various chemicals, meeting the increasing demand within the chemical manufacturing sector.

Quality Denaturants for Safer Alcohol Applications

Denaturants

Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)

Rubbing alcohol, often referred to as isopropyl alcohol (IPA), is a type of alcohol widely utilized for its antiseptic and disinfectant properties. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a distinct, strong smell. Besides its role as a disinfecting agent, IPA is also frequently used as a denaturant for ethanol, either alone or as part of a blend known as Euro denatured.

Bitrex

Denatured alcohol, or alcohol denat, is ethyl alcohol (ethanol) that has been modified with additives, such as Bitrex, to render it unfit for human consumption. This process is primarily intended to exempt the ethanol from certain taxes applied to consumable alcohol, while also ensuring it is used only for industrial and commercial purposes.

tert-Butyl alcohol (TBA)

Tert-Butyl alcohol (TBA), also known as tert-butanol or tertiary butanol, plays an important role in the production of denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol is ethanol that has been intentionally made undrinkable through the addition of specific denaturants. This denaturing process is essential to deter ethanol’s misuse as a recreational drink and to allow it to be exempt from excise taxes.
